Follow these steps to do a minimal setup of MSFS Addons Linker in order to use the renaming tools it comes with. If you already have MSFS Addons Linker installed and set up, only follow step 5-7:
1. Download MSFS Addons Linker from flightsim.to
2. Assuming you have WinRAR installed, right-click the downloaded file and select “Extract to MSFS_Addons_Linker…”. This will extract the program and its contents into a new folder inside the current directory.
3. Open the newly extracted MSFS Addons Linker folder, right-click on “MSFS_AddonsLinker.exe” (or MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024.exe if you use MSFS 2024) and select “Run as administrator”.
4. The MSFS Addons Linker options window should appear. On “My Addons Folders”, click on “Add” and select your MSFS Community folder. Then, on “Options” below select “MSFS Community folder” and do the same. Lastly, click on “OK”.
5. The main MSFS Addons Linker window should appear. Go to “Tools” on top and select “ModelLib Changer”. Click on the “Step 1” button, if it finds any conflicts, click on the “Step 2” button to rename the files. Lastly, close the “ModelLib Changer” window.
6. Go to “Tools” on top and select “MaterialLibs Changer”. Click on the “Step 1” button, if it finds any conflicts, click on the “Step 2” button to rename the folders. Lastly, close the “MaterialLibs Changer” window.
7. Exit MSFS Addons Linker, you are done. Always repeat step 5-7 after installing a new or updated addon.

7. Exit MSFS Addons Linker, you are done. Always repeat step 5-7 after installing a new or updated addon.
