Vancouver International Airport (IATA: YVR, ICAO: CYVR) is an international airport in Richmond, British Columbia. It is located 12 km (7.5 mi) from Downtown Vancouver. It is the second busiest airport in Canada by aircraft movements (306,799) and passengers (25.9 million), behind Toronto Pearson International Airport. It is often described as a trans-Pacific hub, with more direct flights to China … read more than any other airport in North America or Europe. It is a hub for Air Canada and WestJet, and an operating base for Air Transat. Vancouver International Airport is one of eight Canadian airports that have US Border Preclearance facilities. It is also one of the few major international airports to have a terminal for scheduled floatplanes.

  1. Unfortunately, in VR, this is unplayable. I tried removing SamScene3D – Vancouver City Times also, but the problem really is this airport. Exchanging for the FSDreamTeam CYVR fixed the problem immediately and it worked well with City Times and RKbridger. SimPlaza recomends this one, but if you fly in VR, stay away from this one.

  2. Is there any update available by chance? Never any scenery gave me so much headache performance wise. Sometimes it runs buttersmooth, sometimes its a stutterfest. There must be some memoryleak. The devs also should offer to disable interior or SD textures. Not everyone got 12GB VRAM. Their sceneries look nice and all that. So nice, i’d even buy them when they would care to optimize it :/

      1. Thanks for checking, captain 🙂 It’s really strange. Sometimes it’s really smooth, even with ai traffic all over. And then suddenly the stutterfest begins. I disabled anything else in that area, so i’m 99,99% sure it’s the airport. My guess is, that something is causing a memory leak. Like some texture inside the buildings. I’d switch to FSDT if it wasn’t that outdated 🙁

    1. thanks, you just saved me time downloading it, static aircraft the worst idea developer could have what a waste

      1. can you share the version you keep, please ? imho, static aircraft must be banned in msfs unless they are of iconic value

        1. Yeah, it’s really annoying. I hate to see them added to most airport scenery since there are many addons that can tweak and add airport traffic with real world liveries. I do like them at smaller airports that are representing real world aircraft based there. But that’s my only exception. Also annoying to fly in with GSX and see that your real-world flight’s counterpart’s gate is taken up by some AI aircraft even though the flight won’t land for another hour.

          …rant off.

  3. This airport makes Vancouver harbour look way, way better by fixing buildings, it’s hard to get that from the description. Along with freeware Vancouver bridges and scenery it fixes most of the issues in the disappointing default Asobo Vancouver scenery.

  4. Very nice airport, but very resource intensive. I get better performance on FlyTampa Vegas than this.

  5. What i dont like, is that the jetways are named: (Gate no)A (ex. 66A, 70A, 55A, etc), when they should be named with just the numbers, (54,72,44 etc) without the A letter.
