Avalon airport is an international airport located 50km southwest of Melbourne and 15km northeast of Geelong. Avalon Airport is also home to the Australian International Air show which brings crowds of almost 40,000 people! Until 2012, the Hangars at Avalon Airport were used as a maintenance base for Qantas, but they are now available for other businesses. The airport features a single runway which is 3,048m or 10,000 feet long. Avalon Airport has two terminals: one for domestic flights and the second terminal, which opened in 2018, for International flights.
