  1. for some reason, the jetways are pink and all the rest of the airport is just flat. the only thing in the scenery is the jetways and they are no buildings nothing.

  2. 1.5 Changelog:
    ———————————————-
    Exported with latest SDK
    Changed LOD on cars
Removed AMZ 767 (AMZ moved to KLAL)
    Fixed taxilines curves
Jetway now docks better with PMDG
    Fixed drainage ditches
Lowered VRAM usage for higher FPS
    Redo of major ground textures
    Fixed terrain near cargo ramp

  3. Hello there’s an update to this airport that was released a month ago. It improves performance and it fixes CTD.

  4. still no go in terms of optimisation, also got first CTD in this year when this airport was activated in add-on linker. something is wrong with it.

  5. Still supremely poor optimization, but this update helped lower VRAM usage while taxiing and flying around some parts of the scenery package as a whole. Still a delete until next update for me!

  6. Dear scenery/airport makers, we do not need ultra high resolutions in all areas. Please lower the resolutions in distant, not easily seen areas, and remove non essential objects to mitigate VRAM usage.

  7. Flew into last night on 19R. Plane nearly did a summersault on the runway after hitting a scenery seam.

FPS is average. On the high side in terms of FPS impacts when comparing other ‘coastal’ city airports, e.g. half of what you are rendering is ocean/water. But like others have said, once you’ve let the sim load into your rolling cache, everything is okay.

Terrain LOD @ 400, Obj. LOD at 100. AMD 5950X; EVGA Nvidia 3090

  8. While it looks visually stunning the performance is catastrophic and will cause lag worldwide not just at this airport. It also has a lot of bugs like runway 19R having a bump on it, and trams going through taxiway bridges instead of under them. Hopefully, another dev can produce a better addon for KTPA or that this dev optimizes and bug fixes their product as the performance is unacceptable. Thank god for SimPlaza demoing I’d be pissed if I bought this.

  9. Hellfire Minute Man

Flew into runway 18 or something. Followed the papi lights, but needed to remove leafs and other parts of the forest from the landing gear afterwords. How is it possible to let something like that pass at an otherwise fantastic airport?

  10. I’ve found that limiting the vsync to half refresh rate works really well. I have a 60hz monitor so it locks it at 30. I think the problem we run into is we’re trying to hunt for as many FPS as possible when you only need 30. So if you’re in the air getting 60fps, then you’re on the ground but only seeing 35-45, it’s going to seem like the FPS are bad. But that’s only because the system is trying to achieve the highest FPS possible. Just lock it at 30 and you’re going to be good in most places. Pretty much everywhere.

  11. guys for good FPS you should literally just look around the airport for 5-20 minutes and let all of those detailed designs load up. it only lags and stutters because you are trying to do stuff while it is loading so it is best to let it load by just afking or looking around, then do things. i dont have a great PC and my performance is flawless. if you have rolling cache enabled like me im pretty sure you will only have to do it once then it will stay in your rolling cache on quick access for your computer. this is also why if you fly into a big airport it will start having huge lag because your aircraft is going to the airport faster than the airport can load so you should get your destination in your rolling cache beforehand if possible as well to avoid stutters.

    1. You are exactly right! I have a ryzen 5950x & msi gaming trio 4090 3 1440p AOC gaming 165hz monitors get stutters when 1st loading I know this is my processor limiting but then after 45 secs it runs pretty smooth

      1. I have a similar spec to you, and had severe stutters past the airport boundaries (over the airport itself was fine). I turned off Rolling Cache and the stutters went.

  12. Very nice and very detailed, but a stutterfest for me, even at very reduced settings.

Definitely needs some optimisation before I could recommend purchase.

  13. It feels a little bit rushed (some jetways are too short, there are some very bumpy taxiways and it could be better optimized) but hey, it’s VerticalSim, they’ll fix it to 5/5.

  14. Thank you SimPlaza !
But this comes with a bad fluid and FPS and needs a lot more optimization..
Not usable for me in this stage.

    1. Not sure what GPU you’re running but its smooth for me. Maybe lower your settings or get a better GPU. Its using up to 14gb of VRAM on my card.

  15. The train which passes bellow the bridge of taxiway J, doesn’t exactly pass under it, rather through it. Also it’s a bit heavy for fps, similar to EPWA.

  16. looks pretty good from what i saw online. probably be a best seller for verticalsim. still don’t get why flytampa says it wouldn’t be a moneymaker for them to re-produce in msfs.

  17. Great scenery, But getting choppy performance with my 4080, i9-13900k without panning I get 100fps but it drops down to 30s when looking around. Seems to me that this scenery uses a lot of VRAM!

  18. Decided to pick it up through their website. It’s worth throwing some their way every once in a while when it comes to good scenery developers. A little heavy on vram right now, but I would bet that’ll get fixed. Vertical sim has come a long way and have been making very fine sceneries lately.
