Welcome to Tenerife, the largest and most populous island of the Canary Islands.

The island of Tenerife has two airports: the Tenerife North Airport (or Los Rodeos) and Tenerife South Airport (also known as Tenerife South-Reina Sofia Airport in honor of the former Queen of Spain). The south airport is situated in a tourist area, and therefore is the busiest, having hundreds of connections to diff … read moreerent parts of the world. Tenerife North Airport operates mostly domestic flights between the islands of the archipelago.
In this package, we recreated these two airports, GCTS and GCXO, and added a few POIs with custom satellite images and mesh.

The airports are known for their difficult weather conditions making every approach challenging. In the north, you’ll frequently meet low clouds, fog, and rain. In the south on the other hand wind gusts, sandstorms, and wind shears.
Watch out for Calima and extremely high temperatures combined with low visibility.

Features:

• High-quality rendition of Tenerife South Airport GCTS
• High-quality rendition of Tenerife North Airport GCXO
• Satellite coverage around the airports
• Detailed mesh for the airports area
• Custom POIs around the island

  1. Simplaza’s recommendations are usually pretty good but the Simwings tenerife South is far better than the MK.
It would be good to have MK produce Tenerife Norte as a separate airport or perhaps get hold of the Wolkenblau version.

    1. SimPlaza always acknowledged that the Simwings version was far superior – the only reason it recommended MK version was because of the two-airports-in-one issue.

Nevertheless, our prayers have been answered as Wolkenblau version is now here, so the recommendation has been changed back to Simwings.

  2. I’ve installed the mk-studios and the simwings and i have the gcxo from km studios and gcts from simwings, without deleting, modifiying or touching nothing at all

  3. found the different. is cgl dir. that’s must be stay from old version. check again it must be without cgl and around 800mb. stay safe

  4. can you explain some. i just installed thing pac is about 400mb extracted 800mb how the hell it’s can be 1.9gb here?

  5. Deleted the Simwings GCTS and this one doesn´t work for me… My airports are the original ones… it doesnt show the new ones, Any ideas?

  6. Install only GCXO
    CGL folder delete sai 121.cgl
    (Contentinfo folder delete optional)
scenery folder gcxo_gcts rename to gcxo and delete mkstudios-gcts-scenery.bgl scenery folder delete scenery_gcts
    SimObjects\Landmarks folder delete mkstudios_jwy_gcts
Now from Navigraph – Navdata Installers AIRAC Cycle 2207 we take pmdg_737_msfs_2207 and inside this MSFSLayoutGenerator we take it and take it where we have eliminated everything from MK GCTS and paste in the root where this layout.json is then we drag layout.json on top of MSFSLayoutGenerator and so it will generate new one.
Now if we have followed them well, I will go on to enjoy GCXO MK and GCTS SW

      1. You search for the navigraph file here in the main menu. Once you find it, you will procede to download it, (i did with modsfire). Once you select it, there will be a short list of downloadable items, you just select the pmdg 737, its size is about 13mb. Once you download it, you want to extract the msfs layoutgenerator.exe file. Drag it to the folder where you have the mk studios GCXO, assumung you deleted the GCTS files. Once you place it, you then drag the layout.json file and paste it into the generator.exe. It will take about 2 seconds to edit the new layout.json file and once it does, you will be ready with the GCXO of mk studios, and the GCTS of simwings.

        1. Mr. 2TB Community Folder

maybe you can zip your working version and supply it to simplaza, so simplaza can host a working version for people who are not able to do the editing 🙂

          1. I finally tried the file you sent me, and it’s still the same as I mentioned below. You can only either have the SimWings aerial image or MK-STUDIOS one, they cancel each other out. So not really acceptable unless someone merges them with the SDK.

            1. Bummer :/ Thanks for trying though.
I hope there’s someone figuring out a solution, or MKS really splitting up the airports.

            2. Mr. 2TB Community Folder

okay, thanks for having a look. i tried Toni’s workflow and to be honest, i didnt really realize that there was still something wrong with the Aerials 🙁

              Greetings 🙂

      2. Working, thank you very much…. now we will have to fix the taxi to head 30 that is not complete and I don’t know how to fix it either.

    1. Hello.
Tested and at first everything seems to be correct.
Removed everything from GCTS from MK and (sai121.cgl)

    2. I don’t know how is possible to prefer MK Studios scenery. It is just because it has a second airport included. All the ground textures from MK Studios are really horrible. GCTS, GCXO, LIRF, LESO, LPPT, LPPR, and so on…

      1. Simwings version of GCTS is way better, but we did not have GCXO until now, and this one looks quite good for the price

    3. It might be possible to use both this and the simwings gcts, I have done some initial testing, but ill need to test further to check if there’s any issue like ctd etc. To use both I removed the following from the mkstudios version:

      scenery\gcxo_gcts\mkstudios-gcts-scenery.bgl
      scenery\scenery_gcts\
      SimObjects\Landmarks\mkstudios_jwy_gcts

I think the first entry should do it but I removed the rest anyway. Then I regenerated the layout.json using MSFS Layout Generator. Ill keep testing.

NOTE: If you want, do this at your own risk. Keep backups. I take no responsibility if this does not work for you or cause any other issue.

      1. Obviously tried that already, but the aerial image of this one and Sim Wings GCTS are conflicting. So you can decide to either lose the aerial image on SW GCTS or MK GCXO, either one looks bad.
The only way this will work is by editing them with the SDK

        1. We can try with the layout generator (I don’t remember if it’s called that) remove everything from GCTS and generate a new layout so that it doesn’t load anything. (I’m not home to test it)

        2. Well you have better insight in this, i was wondering about the CGL files too. But decided to try anyway. Can you comment on what happens in the Arial imagery conflict? I didn’t fly around to test, only hovered around the airport using the drone.

          1. I don’t even know for sure. When I kept both the SW & MK aerial file in (sai121.cgl), no aerial image showed up on the SW GCTS airport, just the MK GCXO image. Same thing when removing the SW GCTS aerial image. Switching it around, keeping only the SW GCTS aerial image in, no image shows up on MK GCXO but it shows on SW GCTS (obviously).

After 1h I gave up. MK just needs to split both airports up and thats it

    4. Unfortunately the GCTS is not as good as Sim Wings one. If only we could have this GCXO with Sim Wings GCTS.

    5. Simwings GCTS is better than the MKstudios version, inside terminal and outside also…like all simwings products compared to MK ones
