Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (LEBL) is the international commercial airport of Barcelona, Spain. With almost 50 million passengers (2023), it is the second largest airport in Spain and the seventh largest in Europe. It serves as a hub for Air Nostrum, Ryanair and Vueling.
For this expansion, a custom aerial image was used, which was extensively adapted and color-corrected for a rea … read morelistic representation and thus seamlessly connects to the default simulator landscape. The numerous buildings and facilities that have been recreated in the scenery include the newly constructed jetways at Terminal 1.
Animated boarding bridges, numerous static objects such as apron vehicles and realistic dynamic lighting at night bring the airport to life.
Features:
• Highly detailed scenery of the international airport Barcelona “Josep Tarradellas – El Prat” and the immediate vicinity
• All buildings and service facilities
• Realistic 3D terrain made from DEM (elevation data) with sloped taxi- and runways
• Custom aerial image for the airport, elaborately color-corrected and retouched
• Up to date runway, taxiway, apron and stands layout (2024)
• Custom taxiway lights, with some made to work in one direction only (at one-way rapid exits for instance)
• Custom and accurate taxiway signage
• Extremely detailed airport buildings, Terminal T1 and T2 with interior airside
• Terminal T1 has recently constructed southern connection buildings and jetways
• Animated jetways, static jetways at alternate parkings
• Aerosoft VDGS safegate system
• Many custom-made static apron vehicles and cars
• Realistic night time dynamic lighting
• Car bridges added to upper highway system
• Replaced MSFS default street overlays with custom ones
• MSFS SDK materials (PBR)
• Enhanced Harbour at approach site with custom objects like tanks, cranes and vessels
• Replaced “spiky” photogemetric cranes at Barcelona harbour with 3D models

I did a fps test between SimWings and mk-studios and here are the results, tested with PMDG 777, same conditions, gate 288, facing runway 24R which gets a major fps hit in simwings version, preset HIGH, DX11:
SimWings: 25-27 fps;
MK-Studios: 47-50 fps.
Specs: i7 8700, RTX 2070.
thanks very much simplaza
new version is available v1.1.0
parking codes are incorrect
Have some stutters and FPS drop during tuchdown and rollout on Fenix A320. Tested with MK-Studio ones – landing goes smoothly
It will be best of the Prepar3D scenery
This one or MK studios one?
It runs very smoothly, it is super optimized. Thank you
I really wanted to test the new Prats to compared to the one I have. This one seems to have nice exterior textures though the interior of the terminal is not as good as MK Studios and this one when you turn left or right with the drone inside the terminal it crashes. I gave it a second chance and load it again. Went inside the terminal and did the same and yes it crashed again. Aldo frames are better in MK’s. This is a DROP for me.
my recommendation would be this one. yes, it has less clutter, but the Terminal 2 interior is unmatched.
Less clutter, less performance, incorrect parking codes, but ok, the interior is what counts… smh
what are you doing inside the terminal building?
Thank you so much, MrSimPlaza.
Much much appreciated, sir !
Better use the MK studios. Updated to today and photoreal. This Simwing is the old used on Prepar3D and Xplane versions now in
Don’t agree, I tried both, simwings is super optimized as said here, green center taxi lights are custom, so no repetitive one next to each other. runway exit center lights green and yellow asirl. MK Studio verison has too many clutter that adds to the stuttering and lights U mention don’t exist and green center are default which looks terrible INMHO.
Is this simwings LEBL better than LVFR LEBL?
Yes. I would say LVFR can compete with mk Studios though. One difference i saw is that the Vueling building still says Iberia in the lvfr version…
